Women Scuba Diving:

Facing Unique Issues Such As Pregnancy, Menstruation And Implants

Women scuba diving have some unique characteristics that can lead to uncertainty and questions. With more and more women taking up the sport, questions will only increase.

Since I get quite a few female related dive questions, I decided to devote a section to the special issues women may face while diving. Below you will find the answers to the most common inquiries I have received regarding a woman scuba diving.

I will be adding more issues in the future so check back for updates. If you have a particular issue related to women and scuba that you would like covered, let me know and I will do my best to answer your inquiry.

Diving and Pregnancy

This is probably the most frequent area of concern for women scuba diving. Is it safe to dive while pregnant? And how long will I have to wait before I can resume diving after I give birth? We answer those questions here.

Diving and Menstruation

Another issue many females deal with is diving during their monthly cycle. First, should they be scuba diving during this period? Are there any special things they need to consider? And of course, the burning issue of whether sharks will be attracted to them by the smell of blood. Find those answers here.

Diving and Breast Implants

A very special area of consideration for women is diving with breast implants. Are they safe to dive with? Will the implants affect their diving in any way and is there anything special they have to do after getting the implants? Some of the answers may surprise you.

So there you have it. My take on the special issues facing women that scuba dive. Hope these pages and information help. If you have another question, please get in touch and I will do my best to answer it.

Here's to happy and healthy diving!
