Want To Try Scuba Diving? How About A Resort Course

by Jennie
(NC)

Hi,

I was told that there is a thing called a day pass for scuba diving. That is, you would be with a dive instructor, get a day pass and learn the basics of scuba diving. Then you would be able to dive for a day. Can you tell me if this is true or false?

Hi Jennie,

It sounds like your are talking about a scuba diving resort course. This course usually involves a lecture from an instructor on diving basics, some pool time to become familiar with the equipment and then a shallow dive in open water.

This is not a full certification but lets you dive that day - at that resort only - once you finish the lecture and pool portion.

You can not dive anywhere else and it is good only for that particular trip. It can be a great way to get an introduction to scuba diving.

You can find all the details at our scuba diving resort courses page.

Have fun and let us know how you liked it if you do take a dive resort course.
