Scuba Diving Computer Review: Aeris Atmos Air Integrated Dive Computer

by Dayle
(Calgary)

I have been diving on the air integrated, quick disconnect Aeris Atmos AI computer for 4 years.

While I like the computer and appreciate (need) the larger numbering I have had a few interesting experiences with it that should be shared.

Within the first year the computer completely konked out on me at 90' on a wreck dive. Its at moments like that you appreciate your backup.

The dealer replaced it for me right away. It worked great for awhile until two weeks ago when one of the buttons would not work. I like the computer, its functionality and layout, however I am questioning its reliability and am going to look at other options.

Hi Dayle,

Thanks for the review. It is always good to read other people's experiences with dive equipment.

It certainly was lucky you had a backup when the first Aeris Atmos stopped working for you.

We were on a week long dive trip (many years ago) to Coco View in Roatan when the dive computer of one of the guys we were diving with stopped working during a dive.

Since he had already been diving for a couple of days (and he did loooong dives) he had to stop diving completely for 24 hours until he got a new computer (or got his old one fixed - I can't remember exactly).

But that really hurts when you are on week long dive vacation and you have to cut out one day!

I can appreciate that you like the large readout. I was wondering about that myself since my VERY old dive computer has a large readout.

Which I need - unfortunately.

Looking at some of the dive computers out there, I doubt I would be able to read it underwater. Just thinking ahead to when I need to buy a new computer.

I was wondering how long it was between when you got your replacement computer and when the button stopped working? I can understand your hesitancy with this dive computer since you had two malfunction on you.

Thanks for the review and I look forward to hearing from you.

Dianne
