Discover Scuba Diving Resort Course

by Ramiro
(Corrientes, Argentina)

Hi,

I am from Argentina and I recently went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I had my Discover Scuba Diving Experience there and it was awesome!!!

Because I was with my wife and kid, I decided to take it at the resort. It was cool.

I was there at the time they told me to be and got ready. My first immersion at the pool was not that good. I got panicky and surfaced because I couldn“t breathe!!

The instructor told me to calm down, so I tried again. I closed my eyes and tried to relax and breathe deep and slow as I was told to. And that become better and better! I was really comfortable.

He taught me to clear my mask and how to take the regulator again if I drop it. After that, I take a break, talk to my wife and play with my kid - until the instructor call me to go to my open sea dive!!!

He introduce me to my partners, a guy from New Hampshire (USA) getting his certification and a certified guy from Ottawa (Canada). We went to a reef near the hotel and got into the water. I went down, helped with a rope.

We started to dive and the sight was very beautiful, the reef wall, the fish, everything was perfect. Because of my lack of experience dealing with the BCD, I ran out my air after 25 minutes so because of me we all went out of the water a minute after that! I was very sorry for my buddies because they couldn“t enjoy more time because of me.

Now In am planning to do a course here in my city, not PADI but certified by the Argentian Coast Guard. It will allow me to dive in Argentina and many other plac but ASAP i will get the Padi certification.

Congrats for the website, very useful!
Bye!

Hi Ramiro,

Thanks for the great story. I am glad you stuck with it and were able to do the dive. It can be hard at first since it is so different, but the more dives you do, the easier it becomes.

Have fun with your course and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the kind words about the website. I really appreciate it.

Happy diving,

Dianne
